1. Are you from Chattanooga? If not, what brought you here?
I was born in Atlanta but grew up in Orlando, Florida. I went to Lee University in Cleveland and loved Chattanooga and got my first lending job here right out of college.
2. Tell me a little bit about how you came to work in the mortgage industry?
My first job out of college was a finance company. We did small loans, car loans, and 2nd mortgages. I was one of the top mortgage loan officers which lead me to being recruited by a mortgage company and I’ve pretty much been doing mortgages ever since.
3. What would you say are your biggest strengths when it comes to your business?
I am really big on communication. Buying a house can be very stressful and communicating puts our buyers at ease. I also have an amazing team!
4. What would you say are your biggest challenges when it comes to working and maintaining your personal/family life?
I am a single mom so double the parenting work is on me. Because I make myself available at all times, my kids hear and see me on the phone A LOT! I am trying to work on some boundaries to shut it off and just be mom.
5. What are your thoughts and predictions on what will happen in the real estate market this year?
Who knows!! Just kidding. I think the Chattanooga market is still very strong. I do believe interest rates will come down later this year.
6. What advice would you give to someone in your similar position 15 years ago (advice for a young woman starting out in the mortgage industry/what do you wish someone had told you when you first started in this business)?
Know your trade yet don’t be afraid to get out there! You have to network! This business is not for the faint of heart but is also very rewarding. You have to hustle!
